Le Carpaccio (plate of beef) owes its name to Arrigo Cipriani, owner of the Venetian Harry's Bar, who served thin slices of beef with a little Parmesan, on a day of exhibition of the canvas from the painter. The Venetian artist (1465-1525) has been influenced by his era, he used red and black colours with some tinges of brown. His paintings were inspired by exotic animals as well as natural landscapes.
